Mike Ditka’s Gridiron Greats Hosts its 9th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Gala at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, June 23, 2017 – 6:30 p.m.


Proceeds will benefit Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund and After the Impact Fund

LAS VEGAS, NV, June 09, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ — Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, Inc., a non-profit that provides medical and financial assistance to retired NFL players and their families in dire need, will host its 9th annual Mike Ditka Hall of Fame Gala in Las Vegas on June 23rd at 6:30 p.m. Presented by Regenerative Stem Cell and Wellness Centers and Hall of Fame Partner, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the gala will be held at the luxurious Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas and will honor former NFL players for their outstanding careers as well as their charitable work off the field. J.T. the Brick will once again serve as Master of Ceremonies and a special performance by John Vincent.

The Gridiron Greats class of 2017 Hall of Fame Inductees include: Matt Birk, Dave Casper, Clem Daniels, Leo Ezerins, Mike Golic, Franco Harris, Don Horn and John Niland.

In addition, Sylvia Mackey, wife of former NFL legend John Mackey will present her namesake Award to Liz Nicholson Sullivan (married to former Cleveland Brown, Gerry Sullivan). Liz is a leading advocate in the Chicagoland area and throughout the country for retired NFL players, their wives and families. Through her advocacy work with Gridiron Greats and After the Impact Fund, Liz partners with other wives and families to promote awareness of untreated head injuries. She has been a strong, effective voice for thousands of NFL families as they seek solutions for improving the safety of future generations of players.

Former NFL Hall of Fame Coach Marv Levy will present his first Impact Award focused on recognizing a man or woman who serves or served in the Armed Forces, has exceptional leadership qualities, serves in the community and is honorable, honest and courageous. The first Marv Levy Impact Award will go to Nate Boyer, who is a former Army Green Beret and veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Boyer went on to play for the Seattle Seahawks and has inspired others that “anything is possible.”

Proceeds for this special night will benefit the Gridiron Greats, as well as After the Impact Fund for Veterans and Legends which facilitates comprehensive treatment and provides a support network for military veterans, professional athletes and their families.

Mike Ditka, President of the Gridiron Greats and Emeritus Director for After the Impact Fund says, “We are thrilled to host our annual Hall of Fame event in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Casino. Our Hall of Fame dinner is a great way for us to honor deserving individuals who have done so much to impact others. Both of these charities are near and dear to me and we’re trying to help as many as possible.”
