Aspiring author Frederick Rovner is pleased to announce the launch of his debut novel Eudaimonia. A book of historical fiction that depicts some of the greatest events and most fascinating people in western history.

SENOIA, GA, March 29, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Through this medium, the foundations of western thought and philosophy are presented to a modern audience through the narrative of the main characters. These are ancient understandings in Plato, Epictetus, eno, Aristotle, and Cicero. Also, it aims to shed light on the Punic wars and the decline of the Roman Republic. A series of events led to the Roman Republic’s failure and the rise of Imperial Rome. These conflicts set in motion all that would follow over the next 2000 years. Fred is a semi-retired medical provider and former army officer. He received his initial undergraduate education at Humboldt State University in California with degrees in Classical History and Philosophy. This book reflects on some of his life experiences in light of his education. He shares what he has learned in life and the knowledge he gained in that time. Fred was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, shortly after the end of World War Two. Both his parents were veterans of that war. His mother was an Army Nurse, and his father was a former Army Air Corps officer. He grew up in the Southwestern United States and completed High School in Southern California in 1965.

Frederick joined the Regular U.S. Army in 1966. He went on to gain a commission as an Infantry Officer in 1967. After attending paratrooper training, he was deployed to Vietnam. He saw combat action in Vietnam as a rifle platoon leader and company commander. After returning to the U.S., he continued as an infantry officer with the California National Guard. During this time, Frederick returned to college, earning undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in California, Australia, and eventually, in 1997,in Family and Emergency Medicine in Georgia. Eudaimonia takes a deep dive into the lives and times of that distant time (250bce-150bce) in the Mediterranean world. It is hoped that by reading this work, modern audiences will appreciate our history and the values of our ancient forbearers. We are not much different from the men and women in the ancient world. These events and people laid the foundations for the world we find ourselves in today. The struggles, fears, conflicts, love, hopes and dreams, and humanity are evergreen. The book is available now on all major publishing platforms, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Kindle.
