Telluride, CO, June 01, 2017 –(PR.com)– For 36 years, the Telluride Wine Festival has celebrated the best in wine, spirits, beer, and the culinary arts in the stunning San Juan Mountains of Southwestern, Colorado. This year, alongside Colorado’s own, Cultivating Spirits, Telluride Wine Festival is embracing connoisseurs of a different kind with its inaugural cannabis, wine, and food pairing dinner. This event is one-of-a-kind and has never been done within a festival format.

This exploratory evening begins on Friday, June 23rd at 7pm in the Town of Telluride, when attendees are invited into a local dispensary where they will receive samples of four locally-grown strains of top-shelf cannabis. They will have the opportunity to meet the owner to discuss the differences between strains and get a brief background of the industry.

Guests are then whisked away by shuttle to a private luxury home in the Mountain Village where they are greeted by a sommelier and the elite guest chefs. Head of Cultivating Spirits, Philip Wolf, is slated to guide guests through the process of sampling a strain of cannabis in a secure and comfortable environment. Their master sommelier will then introduce a wine varietal that pairs well with the cannabis, followed by a culinary course by their chefs.

“We can no longer ignore that draw that legalized cannabis brings to Colorado’s tourism industry and economy. It is also clear that cannabis is growing up and is no longer something that our society-at-large only associates with lazy teenagers or the residue of the ‘Reefer Madness’ Era. It is becoming sophisticated. People of all ages, races, and economic classes have begun experimenting with the benefits of cannabis both recreationally and medically, and some of these people are patrons of the Telluride Wine Festival,” said Sarah Harkness, PR & Marketing Director of the Telluride Wine Festival. “If there is anything we’ve learned from the culinary and wine industries, it's that experimentation is critical in an evolving industry – so why not try something a little experimental ourselves?”

Tickets for this event are available on an invitation only basis. If you are interested in attending, please send a letter of interest to [email protected]. Price for the tasting is $235 per person and includes transportation, cannabis samples, wine, and food.
